Discover Nagasaki's Culinary Treasures at Hotel Metropolitan

From November 1 to November 30, 2025, Hotel Metropolitan in Ikebukuro invites you to indulge in a unique dining experience through its special event, "Taste of Nagasaki Fair." This culinary festival will be held at the Japanese restaurant Hanamusashi, showcasing the rich flavors and traditional dishes from Nagasaki Prefecture, known for its distinctive cultural heritage shaped by historical trade with foreign nations.

A Fusion of Cultures

Nagasaki is famed for its unique blend of Japanese (Wa), Chinese (Hua), and Dutch (Ran) cultures, often referred to as "Wakaran Culture." This fusion is evident in its architecture, festivals, and most importantly, its food. The region is renowned for its abundance of fresh seafood, meats, and local specialties that reflect the area’s diverse culinary influences.

During the fair, guests will have an opportunity to savor exquisite kaiseki and set meals featuring locally sourced ingredients from Nagasaki. These delicacies will celebrate the distinct flavors of the region, inviting diners to embark on a culinary journey that is as enriching as it is delicious.
