Yamazen Adopts TechTouch as Platform for Enhanced Operations

Introduction

In a groundbreaking move, Yamazen Co., Ltd., a leading trading company based in Osaka, Japan, has opted to implement TechTouch, a top-tier digital adoption platform (DAP), into its human resource management system, SAP SuccessFactors. This decision follows the successful integration of TechTouch with multiple core business systems, including SAP S/4HANA, demonstrating its efficiency and effectiveness in enhancing digital transformation initiatives.

Background of Implementation

Yamazen has committed to advancing digital transformation strategies through a robust digital integration strategy aimed at securing and developing digital talent. Since 2021, the company has progressively integrated TechTouch into their core business systems, expanding its application to include various internal systems such as expense reporting systems and BI tools. Initially, they utilized another DAP for SAP SuccessFactors, but encountered challenges such as the complexity of creating user guides and an editing interface more suited for IT professionals, making it challenging for non-IT staff to navigate.
Moreover, managing multiple DAPs resulted in excessive licensing costs and governance challenges regarding the guide creation process.

Factors Leading to Adoption

After thorough comparison with other DAPs, Yamazen found that TechTouch excelled with its intuitive editor, extensive customization options, strong support system, and excellent cost performance. This ultimately led to the decision to transition from the previous DAP in SAP SuccessFactors to TechTouch. Following the successful implementation within SAP S/4HANA, TechTouch has now become the central platform for all DAP tools in use at Yamazen.

Impact of Implementation

The use of TechTouch has notably reduced the influx of inquiries and the number of erroneous submissions in the expense reporting system by 50%. Average system usage time has also been cut down by five minutes, showing substantial operational improvements. In the case of SAP SuccessFactors, the previous DAP utilized around 180 operational guides; however, the transition to TechTouch allowed for a restructuring of these guides, reducing their number to approximately 50, thereby improving day-to-day maintenance and usability.
One of the standout features of TechTouch is its no-code capability, which allows non-IT employees to create high-quality guides quickly, leading to an increase in user satisfaction with the systems.

Comments from Yamazen's Director of ICT, Masanori Sakata

Yamazen had previously integrated other DAP tools within their SaaS-based HR systems, benefiting from a reduction in inquiries and streamlined input processes. However, the complexity of self-developed guides and reliance on external resources for updates posed challenges. The switch to TechTouch, known for its intuitive operational interface, allows even non-IT employees to develop guides with just a few hours of training. Moreover, the flexibility offered by TechTouch now permits updates based on user feedback and timely content display, enhancing user-centered design for guides.
In an ever-evolving business landscape, tools like TechTouch that promote internal capabilities are essential for increasing business agility. Yamazen is confident that TechTouch will only continue to expand its scope of use within the company.
