PMMI Introduces SMB FastTrack Program to Enhance Growth for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses

PMMI Unveils Launch of SMB FastTrack Program to Aid Small and Medium Enterprises

PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, has announced the upcoming launch of the SMB FastTrack program, set to take place during the PACK EXPO East 2026 event from February 17 to 19 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. This innovative initiative is specifically designed to assist small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in accessing the solutions, resources, and connections essential for promoting their growth.

The SMB FastTrack program marks a significant stride in simplifying the attendee experience at PACK EXPO. The program utilizes intuitive planning tools and visual markers to guide SMBs as they navigate through various exhibitors, educational sessions, and business resources tailored to their unique needs. This initiative reflects PMMI’s commitment to addressing the specific challenges and requirements faced by smaller businesses in the packaging and processing industry.

Participants in the SMB FastTrack program will find that exhibitors have been marked with distinctive SMB Friendly icons within both the online exhibitor directory and at the physical show floor. These icons will highlight offerings such as flexible financing options, discounts, and additional services specifically designed to assist smaller enterprises. Furthermore, attendees looking for specific machinery can quickly identify relevant exhibitors by searching for the gear icon that designates on-site machinery offerings.

Education is a pivotal component of the SMB FastTrack initiative, and PACK EXPO East 2026 will feature a dedicated learning track focused solely on SMB interests. This educational segment will encompass key topics vital for business development, including workforce development, artificial intelligence applications, food safety measures, digital manufacturing practices, and strategies for scalable technologies and cost-effective packaging solutions. In alignment with the program's designations, interactive elements will be incorporated into the online session directory to enable efficient identification and selection of relevant educational opportunities.

According to Laura Thompson, PMMI's vice president of trade shows, the SMB FastTrack Program is strategically created to eliminate barriers to innovation while directly connecting SMBs with the solutions and partners they desperately need. This program essentially transforms the attendee’s experience by integrating specialized tools that enhance show navigation and planning, making it much easier to connect before, during, and after the event.

Moreover, the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce will participate in this year’s PACK EXPO East, providing onsite regional business resources and services that are crucial for the growth and sustainability of local businesses.

Thompson emphasizes that the intent of the program is to empower attendees, ensuring that every moment spent at PACK EXPO East culminates in achievable business outcomes. It’s not merely about showcasing technology; it places significant importance on building and nurturing business relationships. The SMB FastTrack program is poised to foster an environment where productive connections can be easily cultivated and leveraged.

In an exciting evolution, PACK EXPO East will also introduce two AI-driven tools geared towards enhancing the efficiency of finding solutions related to packaging and processing. The AI Category Search tool allows users to input search terms or upload images of their products to receive tailored recommendations for product categories that align with the exhibitors. The AI Search Pilot provides structured guidance through the packing process with steps linked directly to corresponding exhibitors, ensuring a seamless connection to the necessary resources.

The event is expected to host around 500 exhibitors representing over 40 vertical markets. As the premier packaging and processing event on the East Coast, it is set to showcase groundbreaking innovations across numerous sectors including food and beverage, life sciences, cosmetics, as well as industrial and household chemicals.

Additional attractions at the show will include the Containers and Materials Pavilion, emphasizing recyclable and sustainable packaging options, along with the Incubator Hub, in collaboration with Ben Franklin Technology Partners. This hub will shine a spotlight on innovative startups based in Pennsylvania, presenting next-gen technologies and solutions crucial for the packaging and processing landscape.

Attendees will also be encouraged to explore the Workforce Development Pavilion, where resources available to strengthen the packaging and processing workforce will be showcased through partnerships with academic institutions and industry stakeholders.

Beyond the traditional exhibits, PACK EXPO East features an extensive lineup of networking and educational opportunities. These include free sessions at the Innovation Stage, the Young Professionals Networking Reception, and the Packaging Processing Women's Leadership Network Reception — all designed to facilitate interactions and discussions that drive the industry forward.
