ANP TOKYO: A Cultural Renaissance in the Heart of Tokyo
On June 26, 2026, RVCA will unveil 'ANP TOKYO', a free cultural magazine inspired by the Artist Network Program (ANP). This publication aims to resonate with the rich tapestry of Tokyo's artistic landscape, focusing on the dynamic interplay of art, skateboarding, and street culture. The magazine will feature contributions from eleven prominent artists and creators based in Tokyo, presenting a varied showcase of local talent through interviews and artistic contributions.
This initiative not only celebrates the artistic community in Tokyo but also collaborates with 'HIDDEN CHAMPION', a well-regarded cultural magazine known for its in-depth exploration of street culture. 'ANP TOKYO' promises to provide a platform where Tokyo’s diverse cultural narratives can thrive, with in-depth features on well-known artists and insights into the city’s cultural hotspots.
In line with the magazine's launch, a special exhibition will be held at the RVCA SHIBUYA STORE from June 26 to June 28, 2026. The exhibition will feature an opening reception on the first day, inviting art lovers to engage with the showcased works. ANP: Bridging Cultures and Communities
The ANP initiative embodies RVCA's commitment to supporting artists and creators. Following the ethos of 'The Balance of Opposites', ANP connects diverse fields such as art, music, skateboarding, and graffiti culture. 'ANP TOKYO' inherits the vision of the long-established 'ANP Quarterly' launched in 2005, which served as a cultural publication celebrating creativity in various forms.
Unlike typical magazines that may chase trends, 'ANP TOKYO' focuses on valuing the narratives and artworks that deserve recognition beyond the ephemeral trends of the contemporary scene. Each issue will dive deep into the essence of Tokyo’s community, unveiling stories and talent that showcase the true creativity of the city. It serves not only as a publication but as an ongoing exploration of the arts, aiming to document creativity that withstands the test of time.
Limited Edition Merchandise
In addition to the magazine, there will be a limited release of commemorative T-shirts featuring designs from five participating artists: BIKO & KENNY, HOT FUDGE, MHAK, Shinkichi Hiroshima, and TENGAone. These items will be available for a limited period, creating an opportunity for fans to own a piece of the vibrant culture celebrated within 'ANP TOKYO.'
As part of RVCA’s dedication to supporting local talent, articles will focus on Tokyo’s cultural hotspots such as Carpe Diem BJJ Jiyugaoka and Pizzanista! Tokyo, ensuring readers experience the artistic community in multiple dimensions.
In its essence, 'ANP TOKYO' aims to become a crucial part of the narrative surrounding the arts within Tokyo, ensuring that the stories of its creators reach audiences far beyond the city limits. The founders of this magazine understand that engaging with the community means nurturing relationships, and they aspire for 'ANP TOKYO' to inspire future generations through the voices and stories of today’s artists.
With the announcement of 'ANP TOKYO', RVCA solidifies its commitment to fostering a thriving artistic community while maintaining a creative output that resonates deeply within the cultural landscape of Japan.
