Midea Unveils Sustainable Innovations at IFA 2025, Reinforcing Carbon-Free Vision

Midea's Commitment to a Sustainable Future at IFA 2025

During the prestigious IFA 2025 exhibition in Berlin, Midea reaffirmed its dedication to sustainability with a series of cutting-edge innovations under the slogan "GREEN VISION, BLUE FUTURE." Highlighting its ongoing efforts toward a carbon-neutral environment, Midea presented a remarkable line of advanced products and technologies that emphasize eco-friendliness while delivering high performance in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC).

Midea's Groundbreaking R290 Solutions

One of the key focuses of Midea's presentation was its R290 solutions, which have been in development for over 15 years. Since the introduction of the world’s first United Nations-supported R290 demonstration production line in 2010, Midea has driven the global adoption of this eco-friendly refrigerant. The company has established 12 state-of-the-art production lines for R290, boasting an annual production capacity of 6.4 million units. These advancements have led to a tangible reduction in carbon emissions worldwide, showcasing Midea's active role in shaping international refrigerant standards and promoting the widespread use of R290.

Midea’s extensive R290 product lineup includes the innovative H-Pack Hybrid Heat Pump. Developed by Midea’s European R&D team, this indoor unit combines high energy efficiency with a compact design, eliminating the need for an outdoor unit. Its hybrid functionality allows seamless integration with gas boilers, ensuring reliable heating performance even in extremely cold conditions. This exemplifies Midea's vision to utilize technology for a greener future.

Raynor: Nordic Performance and Design

Another highlight was Midea's leading low-temperature air-to-air heat pump, Raynor. With an impressive energy efficiency rating of A+++ and an SCOP rating of 5.1, Raynor is among the most efficient heat pumps available today. Prototype tests have demonstrated its reliability at temperatures as low as -40 °C, maintaining a full heating capacity of 5.0 kW at -25 °C and peaking at 8.0 kW.

Designed for the demanding conditions of Nordic coastal regions, Raynor incorporates advanced frost protection and corrosion resistance technology. Features such as Prime Guard Hyper Graphene coating, a heated bottom plate, and durable ceramic ball bearings with flash defrost capabilities ensure dependable operation in extreme cold and damp environments. Its blend of longevity, efficiency, and innovative design earned Raynor prestigious accolades like the iF Design Award and the Red Dot Design Award. At IFA 2025, this exceptional product was presented with the “Excellent Heating Technology Innovation Gold Award” by Leif Lindner, CEO of IFA Management GmbH, further validating Midea's leadership in next-generation heating solutions.

AI-Driven Comfort with Solstice

Midea also introduced the AI-powered Solstice air conditioner, featuring a 180° rotatable air deflector that evenly distributes airflow for unparalleled comfort. Designed for rapid heating and cooling, Solstice operates using Midea's latest AI engine, ECOMASTER, which processes billions of data points to predict environmental changes and optimize energy consumption. This model can maintain a precise comfort level within ±0.3 °C while reducing energy usage by over 30%.

In an exciting announcement, Midea expressed plans to collaborate with Microsoft to integrate natural language control powered by AI, allowing users to interact with their air conditioning units in everyday language across 145 supported languages.

Midea's showcases at IFA 2025 not only emphasize its commitment to sustainable living but also highlights how the integration of cutting-edge technology and stellar design positions the company at the forefront of the transition to a carbon-neutral future. By delivering energy-efficient solutions, Midea continues to balance environmental responsibility with everyday comfort, defining what sustainable living means in our modern world.
