Delta Leads the Way in Coral Restoration at the 16th International Coral Reef Symposium

In a significant move for marine conservation, Delta Electronics has made history by being the first Taiwanese company to organize a dedicated session at the 16th International Coral Reef Symposium (ICRS). This premier conference, held in New Zealand from July 19 to 24, gathers over 2,000 experts from around the globe to address pressing issues related to coral reefs. The presentations shared during this session showcased remarkable innovations, such as AI-based image recognition systems, the development of digital twins for ecological monitoring, and applications of biocompatible materials in coral sampling – all working towards minimizing damage and enhancing restoration techniques. For instance, smartphone technology is being leveraged to create rapid 3D models of coral structures, which can greatly improve large-scale ecological monitoring initiatives.
