High School Basketball Jamboree Returns to Rocky Mount, Featuring Over 40 Teams from 16 Counties

High School Basketball Jamboree Returns to Rocky Mount Event Center

The Rocky Mount Event Center will again be the site for the much-anticipated High School Basketball Jamboree this summer, showcasing talent from over 40 high school teams spanning 16 counties in North Carolina. Scheduled for June 23 and 24, this two-day event shines a spotlight on both boys' and girls' high school basketball, affirming its reputation as a premier destination for youth sports in Eastern North Carolina.

Following the success of last year's jamboree, this year's event promises even more competitive action as it attracts participants from various neighboring counties, including Nash, Edgecombe, Johnston, Franklin, Onslow, Bertie, Hertford, Greene, Wake, Wilson, Pitt, Sampson, Cumberland, Rockingham, and Lenoir. The registration remains open, highlighting the ongoing interest in this remarkable event as teams gear up for their upcoming seasons.

Keorra Taylor, the Event Manager at the Rocky Mount Event Center, expressed her excitement over the return of so many teams. "When teams choose to come back to Rocky Mount year after year, it shows that we’ve created something valuable to them," she stated. This sentiment resonates with both players and coaches who are continuously seeking high-quality venues for their summer competitions.

Partnering with local coach Michael Mosley and the Rocky Mount Parks & Recreation Athletics Department, this event demonstrates strong community backing. Coach Mosley emphasized the significance of providing local youth with opportunities to compete on familiar grounds. "It’s all about giving our kids a stage close to home and matching them up against their peers," he remarked.

The 2026 jamboree will not only emphasize high-caliber competition but also enhance the overall experience for everyone involved. A notable addition this year is a dedicated Coaches Reception, a space where coaches can relax and network with complimentary food and drinks between games. Moreover, for student-athletes looking to unwind, the new Players' Lounge has been created as a haven to recharge with snacks, games, and giveaways—a special acknowledgment of their hard work.

This larger community effort is made possible thanks to presenting sponsor Brightspeed and various other local partners such as Bojangles, East Carolina Inflatables, and Buffalo Wild Wings. Their involvement signals a commitment to support youth athletics and strengthen community ties. Sabrina Anderson, the Local Marketing Manager at Brightspeed, highlighted that their partnership goes beyond a single event; it represents an ongoing mission to reinforce community connections.

For teams eager to be part of this exhilarating basketball showcase, registration is still available on the Rocky Mount Event Center website. Spectators are also invited to join, with admission priced at $15 for a single-day pass and $25 for access to both days. Special rates are offered for summer camp groups, ensuring that everyone has a chance to witness this thrilling event.

Fans and teams alike can keep up with announcements and updates by following Rocky Mount Event Center on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, ensuring they don’t miss a moment of this extraordinary basketball competition.

As the Rocky Mount Event Center welcomes these high school athletes, the jamboree continues to evoke a spirit of unity and competition, reflecting the pride and camaraderie shared among communities throughout North Carolina.
