Laerdal Medical Japan and Tokyo Healthcare University Join Forces
On October 16, 2025, Laerdal Medical Japan, headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, signed a partnership agreement with Tokyo Healthcare University located in Shinagawa, Tokyo. This collaboration aims to enhance the quality of nursing and medical education through
simulation education and
digital transformation (DX).
Overview of the Agreement
The memorandum of understanding (MOU), which aims to improve the quality of healthcare education, focuses on several key areas:
- - Advanced Simulation Education: The partnership will promote the development and application of simulation-based educational methods, integrating them into medical curricula.
- - Visible Learning Outcomes: By enhancing simulation education, the agreement seeks to make learning outcomes transparent and measurable.
- - Competency-Based Education (CBE): The collaboration supports the establishment of CBE, ensuring that education is focused on developing specific competencies necessary for healthcare professionals.
- - Data-Driven Quality Assurance: Together, Laerdal and Tokyo Healthcare will work on implementing mechanisms for quality assurance based on data analytics.
- - Support for Educators and Learners: The partnership will provide resources to help both instructors and learners set educational goals and visualize their progress effectively.
The signing ceremony took place at Tokyo Healthcare University’s Gotanda campus. Dr. Shuji Kameyama, President of Tokyo Healthcare University, and Svein Håkon Kristensen, President of Laerdal Medical Japan, expressed their excitement about the collaboration.
