Volunteers Wanted: Join Us for Swing into Spring!

Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary, located in Tyler, Texas, is gearing up for its much-anticipated Swing into Spring event, and they're calling upon animal enthusiasts from the local community to lend a hand! This family-friendly celebration is crafted not just for fun, but also to support the essential work of animal care, conservation, and education.

Event Details

On Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, attendees can enjoy a variety of activities that showcase the sanctuary's commitment to wildlife conservation while having a great time outdoors. More than 600 guests are expected to join in this adventure through nature, engaged with the sanctuary's animal residents and many local vendors.

Throughout the day, guests will have the chance to enjoy keeper talks where they can learn about various animal species, partake in enrichment activities that stimulate the animals mentally and physically, and explore numerous craft stations. Plus, local small businesses will be present, offering visitors unique gifts and souvenirs to take home.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the backbone of this event! Those who have a passion for wildlife and want to contribute to their community’s welfare are encouraged to apply for this meaningful opportunity. Volunteers will assist in various capacities throughout the event and help Connecticut the sanctuary with its mission of education and conservation.

Volunteers should be available from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM on the event day; and as a token of appreciation, all volunteers will receive a volunteer t-shirt and lunch will be provided. Given the popularity of this event, there are limited volunteer spots available, so interested parties are advised to apply promptly. The application deadline is March 1, 2026.

Founded in 1995, the Tiger Creek Wildlife Refuge was established with a commitment to rescue, rehabilitate, and educate on behalf of animals. Situated in East Texas, the sanctuary mimics the natural habitats of its residents and has successfully rescued over 75 big cats and aided more than 1,200 wild animals since it opened its gates.
