On August 2, 2025, the annual Herbal Day celebration will take place, featuring a unique collaboration between SAKEKING and four traditional bathhouses across Tokyo. This event, themed "Breathe Easy and Joyful Body: A Refreshing Moment with Herbs," aims to highlight the rich traditions of Japanese bathing culture while introducing the unparalleled benefits of natural Okinawan herbs.
Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy an authentic herbal bath experience infused with pesticide-free herbs from Okinawa. With the sweltering summer heat wearing down our spirits, the event promises a refreshing escape, merging the ancient practices cherished by Japanese people with the healing properties of Okinawa's so-called "life medicine" herbs.
Event Overview
This collaboration runs from August 2 until August 10, 2025, and includes special herbal bath experiences at the following locations:
- - Myohoyu (Shiinamachi) on August 2
- - Konparu-yu (Osaki) on August 3 and 4
- - Chiyo no Yu (Gakugei Daigaku Mae) on August 3
- - Hidakawa no Izumi Hagi no Yu (Uguisudani) on August 9 and 10.
Throughout this duration, bathhouses will offer a unique
Waherb Medicine Bath, brewed with Okinawa-produced herbs like Fuchiba, Gyeongju, and Lemongrass. Guests can rejuvenate their bodies deeply through the synergy of herbal remedies and the enriching ritual of a Japanese public bath.
Participants can also look forward to exclusive gift distributions, where the first 2,000 customers will receive products featuring Okinawan herbs, supporting holistic health from the inside out. Gifts include SAKEKING, a food supplement made with four types of Okinawan turmeric combined with five plant materials, and natoha black ginger tea, a delicious blend of Okinawan black ginger and herbs without additives or color.
Moreover, special aromatic experiences will be crafted throughout the bathhouses thanks to Spa Hospitality's collaboration. Custom lead diffusers filled with a refreshing blend of natural essential oils will be installed, alongside aromatic mists to enhance the overall bathing atmosphere. The scents will uniquely utilize Cypress and Grapefruit essential oils, targeting those wearied by summer fatigue.
For those who are unable to attend, a social media giveaway will run concurrently, offering participants a chance to win herbal-related products and exclusive bathhouse goodies. Entry can be submitted via the SAKEKING’s Instagram or X accounts between August 1 and August 11, 2025.
