Center for Food Action Celebrates Youth Leadership at Annual Fundraiser Event

The Center for Food Action (CFA) is set to host its 49th Annual Fall Fundraiser on October 23, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Teaneck Marriott at Glenpointe. This year’s event promises to be more than just a fundraiser; it is a heartfelt recognition of young community leaders striving to create positive changes in their neighborhoods.

The highlight of the evening will be the introduction of the Next Generation Nourish Awards, designed to honor the efforts of local youth who are making significant contributions in the ongoing battle against hunger and poverty. These awards serve as a platform to recognize and inspire the younger generation, showcasing how their innovative approaches to community service can yield meaningful results.

Nicole Davis, the Director of CFA, emphasized the critical importance of youth involvement in social issues, stating, “When young people step up, they bring new energy, vision, and hope. Our honorees show us what’s possible when youth channel their energy and creativity into helping others. Their work illustrates that the next generation isn’t waiting for tomorrow; they are making a difference today.”

Honorees

Among the esteemed award recipients are:
  • - Leah Gaber from Saddle River Day School
  • - Kaitlyn Klaus of the University of Mississippi
  • - Girl Scout Troops from Englewood, Fort Lee, Old Tappan, and Oradell
  • - PIM Brands

These honorees have exemplified extraordinary commitment and creativity in their efforts to alleviate food insecurity, demonstrating what can be accomplished when passionate individuals unite for a common cause.

Additionally, the evening will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony for CFA’s new mobile pantry. This initiative aims to expand the organization’s reach, providing essential food services directly to families in need across northern New Jersey. The mobile pantry represents a significant advancement in CFA’s mission to ensure that no one has to face hunger alone.

The funds raised during the event will directly contribute to CFA’s essential programs, which include emergency food assistance, housing support, and advocacy for vulnerable families throughout New Jersey. Every dollar raised will play a critical role in continuing to support those who find themselves in challenging circumstances.
