Tokyo Electric University Launches Community-Focused Program for Elementary Students

Tokyo Electric University Launches "Children's University Hatoyama"



Tokyo Electric University (TEU), led by President Tadahiko Ibahon, is excited to announce the initiation of a community partnership program titled "Children's University Hatoyama," designed for local elementary school students in grades four to six. This engaging event, spanning from June to October, includes five sessions held in collaboration with Hatoyama Town, Yamamuro Gakuen Junior College, and Japan University of Health Sciences.

The "Children's University Hatoyama" is organized by the Executive Committee, with the Dean of TEU's Faculty of Engineering, Reiso Nagahara, serving as the program's president. This initiative, which began in the 2013 academic year, encourages students to develop scientific perspectives while fostering collaboration and social skills amongst peers. Participants engage in hands-on experiments, observations, and creation, utilizing readily available materials to explore scientific phenomena and principles.

The sessions will take place at the Saitama Hatoyama Campus of TEU, where faculty members will lead lectures.
