ATOMica Secures Series B Funding with JR East as Key Investor

ATOMica Advances with New Funding

ATOMica, a social co-working startup based in Miyazaki City, has successfully completed the first close of its Series B funding round. This initiative sees East Japan Railway Company (JR East) as a major investor, with Global Brain Corporation’s TAKANAWA Earth-Benefit Fund stepping in as the lead investor. In addition, a subsidiary of Fukuoka Financial Group, FFG Venture Business Partners, continues to support this round, marking a significant milestone for ATOMica.

Funding Objective and Future Outlook

ATOMica plans to announce the total amount raised, its intended uses, and future plans around the final close expected this summer. The latest funding is not only vital for its operations but is also aimed at further enhancing collaboration within the startup ecosystem in Japan.

Strengthening Partnerships and Growth Initiatives

The TAKANAWA Earth-Benefit Fund, which is backed by JR East, is designed to strengthen startup support in areas including environment, mobility, and healthcare. ATOMica has been actively involved in the planning and operation of the TAKANAWA GATEWAY Link Scholars' Hub (LiSH), which is slated to become a key center for innovation and collaboration when it opens in May 2025. This hub represents a pivotal opportunity for startups to accelerate their growth and contribute to a broader startup ecosystem across Japan by connecting them with resources and partnerships.

Continued Support from FFG Venture Business Partners

In a notable continuity of support, FFG Venture Business Partners has invested in ATOMica for the fourth consecutive round, which marks a first for the firm. This dynamic relationship underscores a shared commitment to the startup's mission of fostering interconnectedness in its operational framework. As a startup originating in Kyushu, ATOMica aims to build reliable networks that encompass the entirety of Japan.

Company Milestones

ATOMica operates under the mission of fostering relationships that promote mutual support. The startup has built a diverse community-driven environment, focusing on resolving regional and social challenges. Currently, ATOMica employs 232 community managers across various locations, expanding their network into universities and corporate spaces to facilitate connection and innovation.
