Okayama University's 19th BIZEN Activity Conference
On November 28, 2025, Okayama University will hold the 19th BIZEN Activity Conference, titled ‘Let’s spread our wings to the overseas!’ This hybrid event will facilitate discussions aimed at fostering global innovation in healthcare, particularly between Japan and ASEAN countries.
Overview of the BIZEN Project
Established in 2020, the BIZEN project, part of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's initiative to enhance national university innovation, focuses on strengthening management, enriching specialized human resources, transforming research value into revenue, and promoting cooperation with startups and ventures.
The project aims to boost innovation in healthcare through collaboration between industry and academia. One major initiative is the establishment of an Open Innovation Lab at Okayama University Hospital in Okayama City, promoting collaborative activities under the BIZEN Project (Business Innovation Zone for Entrepreneurship). This lab provides a space for businesses, researchers, and students interested in open innovation in healthcare to connect and share resources.
