Gyoza Specialty Shop Yoshiko Opens in Meguro
The beloved
Gyoza Specialty Shop Yoshiko will grandly open its latest location in
Meguro, Tokyo, on June 30, 2025. This venue is the sixth addition to
FTG Company, which operates a variety of restaurant brands including Osaka Yakiniku and Hormone Futago and Green Brothers, totaling 127 outlets worldwide.
Established by the founders of Osaka Yakiniku and Hormone Futago, Yoshiko is named after the brothers' mother, who was known for her delicious gyoza during their childhood. Growing up in a small restaurant environment, Yoshiko shared her love through these mouthwatering dumplings. Despite the modest means of their upbringing, Yoshiko’s constant warmth and care shone through in her cooking.
About the Gyoza
Yoshiko's gyoza is uniquely tender with a crispy surface, featuring a rich blend of domestically produced vegetables, including plentiful garlic, ginger, and napa cabbage. The dumplings are best enjoyed fried to perfection, providing a delightful contrast: a crispy exterior with a chewy texture inside. Once bitten into, the juicy filling bursts forth, overflowing with the natural sweetness of the vegetables, making it all too easy to finish off a plate in no time.
Every gyoza is handcrafted with utmost care, adhering to strict safety standards to ensure that even children can enjoy them worry-free.
New Store Highlights
At the new Meguro location, patrons can savor a plate of gyoza for 380 yen (tax included 418 yen). In addition, the menu features other comforting offerings like Yoshiko Yaki (Japanese omelet) priced at 480 yen (tax included 528 yen) and Aurora Menchi Katsu at 530 yen (tax included 583 yen). These dishes are perfect companions to both rice and drinks, offering a sense of nostalgia for home-cooked meals.
The restaurant caters to families, making it an ideal spot for an after-work drink or a family dinner. Guests can relax at the traditional tatami seating area inspired by the nostalgic Showa era, providing a cozy atmosphere for guests to unwind.
Takeout options are available too, allowing customers to bring home a plate of gyoza as a side dish, snack for a home gathering, or as a gift for loved ones.
