Ryuji Ukita Appointed as President of Snowflake Japan

On June 18, 2025, Snowflake Inc., a leading provider of AI data cloud solutions, announced the appointment of Ryuji Ukita as the new President of Snowflake Japan, effective August 1, 2025. This transition follows the departure of Hidetoshi Tojo, who previously held the role.

Ryuji Ukita, who has been with Snowflake Japan since 2021 as the Executive Officer and Head of the Second Sales Division, has a rich background in the technology industry. Before joining Snowflake, he served as the Executive Vice President for Adobe's Digital Experience Sales division and held various key positions at EMC/VCE Corporation. His extensive experience makes him a suitable leader to steer Snowflake's operations in Japan.

Reflecting on his new role, Ryuji stated, "I am deeply honored to contribute to the creation of business value and growth for our Japanese customers as the President. As we witness businesses accelerating their digital transformation through innovative data and AI technologies, I promise to continue providing the foundation for more companies to succeed in the AI era, with a focus on security and governance. Together with our partners, Snowflake will support data-driven decision-making and AI innovation, contributing meaningfully to the development of Japan's digital society."

Jon Robertson, President of the Asia Pacific and Japan region, praised the strategic significance of the Japanese market for Snowflake. "Japan is a critical market for Snowflake. The rapid advancement of AI has significantly increased the demand for data cloud services," Robertson noted. He expressed gratitude towards the former president, Tojo, for his contributions to the company's growth and expressed his confidence in Ukita’s capability to expand the business further. "We aim to enhance Snowflake's presence in the Japanese market by providing innovative solutions and strengthening our partner ecosystem," added Robertson.

Hidetoshi Tojo, the outgoing President, shared his sentiments about his time at Snowflake. He expressed pride in being one of the company's founding employees and pursuing the potential of AI data clouds alongside numerous customers and partner companies. "Supporting Japanese businesses in their digital transformation during this data and AI era and being part of that journey has been an invaluable experience for me. I am confident that under the new leadership, Snowflake will achieve further growth. I would like to sincerely thank everyone for their tremendous support over the years," Tojo remarked.
