SolaREIT Strengthens Leadership Team with Renewable Energy Experts for 2026

SolaREIT Enhances Leadership Team

SolaREIT™, an innovative company in the realm of solar and battery storage real estate investment, has announced a significant expansion of its leadership team. This strategic move involves the acquisition of two seasoned professionals with extensive backgrounds in renewable energy. As the company gears up for a busy 2026, these appointments are bound to fortify its capabilities in providing essential capital solutions tailored for clean energy developers across the nation.

New Additions to the Team

Jay Carlis has been appointed as the Executive Vice President of Business Development, while Laurie Mazer joins as the Senior Development Advisor. The influx of such expertise is expected to significantly enhance the company's operational potential and strategic outreach in the renewable energy sector.

Profiles of New Leaders

Jay Carlis brings over 15 years of hands-on experience in renewable energy origination to his new position. His previous role as Senior Vice President of Origination at Pine Gate Renewables, along with his tenure as Senior Director at AES Corporation, has equipped him with a robust foundation in closing substantial utility-scale solar Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). Notably, during his career, he has successfully originated and completed over 1,000 megawatts of solar projects in collaboration with major clients such as Amazon, Google, and the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to his ventures at Pine Gate and AES, Carlis was instrumental in the leadership at Community Energy, a company sold to AES in 2021.

Laurie Mazer adds a wealth of expertise with over 20 years dedicated to the development of clean energy projects. Her credentials are impressive; she co-founded Formation Energy LLC and managed Mazer Consulting LLC, lending her skills to numerous high-profile projects. Notably, Mazer's career highlights include her role as Vice President of Development at Lightsource bp, where she was part of the founding team for the company’s U.S. operations. During her time there, she oversaw the development of seven projects that were ready for construction, all while building an impressive multi-gigawatt project pipeline.

Strengthening Core Mission

This leadership enhancement is crucial as SolaREIT aims to expand its real estate financing solutions specifically designed for solar and battery storage developers. By monetizing land and lease values, the company is dedicated to reducing costs and generating liquidity for project-related expenses. Over its operational history, SolaREIT has facilitated real estate financing for clean energy projects exceeding three gigawatts, amounting to a staggering value of over $5 billion.

CEO Laura Pagliarulo expressed her enthusiasm about the new additions, stating, "We’re thrilled to welcome Jay and Laurie to the SolaREIT team. Both bring decades of proven expertise and an extensive track record of success in the renewable energy sector. Jay's origination and deal-making experience, combined with Laurie's deep technical development knowledge, will be invaluable as we continue to scale our developer-focused capital solutions."
