Kawai Musical Instruments and HERALBONY Collaboration

Kawai Musical Instruments Manufacturing Co., Ltd. recently showcased a unique collaboration with HERALBONY at the major exhibition organized by APF France Handicap, one of France's largest disability rights organizations. The event, titled L'Art coûte que coûte, was held from August 14 to 25 in Paris, and featured a grand piano adorned with artwork from SATO, a renowned artist under contract with HERALBONY.

Founded in 1933, APF France Handicap supports over 35,000 individuals with disabilities and focuses on advocating for the rights of those with disabilities and their families. This exhibition aims to promote respect for diversity and social participation through the presentation of artworks created by artists with disabilities, celebrating their creativity and expression in an international cultural event that has gained considerable attention since its inception in 2022.

The 2023 edition of the exhibition showcased approximately 80 pieces from 13 artists associated with APF France Handicap. In a special display, Kawai introduced the Shigeru Kawai Grand Piano SK-5, named KIZASHI, featuring SATO's artwork titled BIG STEP. This marked Kawai's inaugural participation in the exhibition, highlighting their commitment to inclusivity and the arts.

On August 25, Kawai hosted a reception attended by around 350 guests, including France's Minister of Disability Policy, where they unveiled the intentions and efforts behind KIZASHI. The event was further enhanced by a performance by Swiss pianist Yuki Kiuchi, who played the KIZASHI piano, creating a vibrant atmosphere that resonated with the audience.
