Neopharma Technologies Achieves Major AI Management System Certification for NEOVAULT®
Neopharma Technologies Achieves ISO/IEC 42001:2023 for NEOVAULT®
Neopharma Technologies Ltd, an innovative health technology company based out of Australia, has recently made headlines with a significant achievement. The company has proudly announced that it has received the ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certification for its Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS). This certification marks a pivotal moment in the ongoing global development and deployment of its flagship diagnostics platform, NEOVAULT® and myNEO®.
Achieving the ISO/IEC 42001 certification signifies that Neopharma is adhering to a recognized standard for the governance and responsible management of artificial intelligence across the software lifecycle. This certification encompasses the design, development, deployment, operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the NEOVAULT® platform. It also highlights Neopharma's commitment to security, privacy, and compliance, reinforcing its existing frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, and HIPAA.
Shaun Melville, the Executive Director at Neopharma Technologies, commented on this achievement by stating, “Achieving ISO/IEC 42001 certification represents another important step in the global development of NEOVAULT®. As we build digital infrastructure designed to connect diagnostic technologies, organisations, and workflows at scale, how artificial intelligence is governed is just as important as the capability of the technology itself.” This underscores the company’s strategy to build a trusted digital infrastructure capable of serving diagnostic, healthcare, and enterprise environments worldwide.
In addition, Gajenddra Raj, Chief Technology Officer, emphasized that in the context of diagnostics, artificial intelligence must go beyond mere performance metrics. “AI cannot simply be about technical performance. It must operate within an environment where systems are governed, monitored, and continuously managed throughout their lifecycle,” he elaborated. This approach incorporates security, privacy, traceability, and accountability right from the architecture phase.
The scope of ISO/IEC 42001 is particularly significant as it addresses the complete lifecycle of NEOVAULT® and myNEO®, reinforcing the technology foundation necessary to support diagnostic manufacturers, healthcare organizations, and enterprise partners. The platform is designed to be device-agnostic, providing a flexible structure capable of connecting various diagnostic technologies, testing workflows, laboratories, and enterprise systems in a secure, traceable digital environment.
Thus far, NEOVAULT® has been primarily focused on workplace health and drug and alcohol testing. However, the platform's architecture is engineered to facilitate future expansions into broader human health diagnostic applications, showcasing Neopharma’s vision for a comprehensive, interconnected health ecosystem.
