Aqua Ignis Celebrates Culinary Success with Unique Spirit Release
On September 1, 2023, Aqua Ignis, operated by Aqua Ignis Co., Ltd. in Mie Prefecture, unveiled a limited edition spirit named 'Land of the Rising Sun' to commemorate the Japan team's remarkable victory at the World Pastry Championship. Headed by Chef Masanori Hata, this exclusive product will be available at various restaurants within Aqua Ignis, celebrating both culinary excellence and the artistry of Japanese pastry.
This unique spirit comes as a result of collaborative efforts among notable chefs, including Yushi Matoba and Ryu Miyazaki, alongside Daisuke Tomita, who joined forces at the Alchemie Tazumi Distillery in Gifu Prefecture in March 2025. The distillation process involved hand-peeling six types of citrus fruits, which were carefully added to a barrel, capturing the essence of each ingredient. Notably, the red strawberry variety “Beni Hoppe” sourced from TSUJIGUCHI FARM adds a sweet hint that complements the refreshing citrus aroma.
The spirit is crafted with a blend of local botanicals and fresh fruits, including citrus varieties like sweet oranges and blood oranges, integrating the rich flavors of the region. The experience does not stop there; this spirit will also serve as a base ingredient for upcoming pastries from Confiture Aash, allowing guests to enjoy the taste of victory in both drinks and desserts.
The label, designed by Daisuke Kamimura of Kamimura Printing, further emphasizes the connection between the Japanese team and their victory story. This commemorative bottle not only reflects the team's journey and aspirations but serves as a beautiful keepsake for fans and enthusiasts alike.
