Unlocking the Future: AI and Programming Classes Offered at the University of Tokyo

Dive into the World of AI and Programming at the University of Tokyo

Chiba Prefecture's Ichihara City is excited to announce an educational opportunity in partnership with the University of Tokyo, aimed at igniting the interest of young minds in artificial intelligence and programming. The program, titled "AI and Programming Classes 2026," is specifically designed for elementary and middle school students, providing them with hands-on experiences that will inspire them to explore the future of technology.

Tailored Courses for Different Age Groups

The program consists of three distinct classes that cater to various ages and interests:

1. Kids Programming Class
This class will introduce elementary school students to programming using a small computer called "micro:bit." Participants will engage in fun and interactive lessons that develop their coding skills in an enjoyable way.

2. Middle School Programming Class
Designed for junior high school students, this course focuses on the programming language "Python," widely used in artificial intelligence applications. Students will learn the basics of coding, apply it to practical scenarios, and understand how Python can be utilized to solve real-world problems.

3. Middle School AI Introduction Class
This course aims to familiarize students with the impact of artificial intelligence on society and their daily lives. Participants will witness firsthand the workings of AI through engaging activities and discussions.

Campus Tour: A Window to the Future

After completing their classes, students will have the unique opportunity to participate in a tour of the University of Tokyo's Hongo Campus. This visit not only enhances their learning experience but also helps them envision their future paths in the tech world, potentially motivating them to pursue higher education in STEM fields.
