A New Social Sanctuary in the Sky of Ginza —
GINZA SAPPHIRE LOUNGE Soft Opens
Tokyo, Japan – October 3, 2025 – A new chapter in Tokyo's social scene has begun with the soft opening of the
GINZA SAPPHIRE LOUNGE, strategically located on the rooftop of the freshly unveiled
KUROSAWA × Tiffany Building at 6-Chome of Ginza, along the prominent Chuo-dori Avenue. This members-only lounge promises to be a sophisticated haven where art, gastronomy, culture, and meaningful connections come together in an exclusive setting.
Pre-Opening Celebration Highlights
On October 1, prior to its official soft opening, the lounge hosted a celebratory pre-launch event. This gathering attracted distinguished figures from various sectors—including business magnates, cultural icons, and media representatives—to honor the birth of this new social oasis. Amidst a vibrant and festive ambiance, attendees toasted with champagne, enjoyed a curated menu crafted by renowned chefs, and engaged in delightful conversations while soaking in the stunning nighttime views of Ginza.
One of the event's standout moments was a ceremonial
Kagami Biraki—a traditional sake-opening ritual symbolizing new beginnings. Founder
Stéphane Lafay, the former Asia-Pacific representative of Tiffany, led the ceremony alongside
Mr. Tsukasa Shimazaki, CEO of the Kurosawa Group and a co-founder of this initiative, as well as
Mr. Richard Geoffroy, the legendary chef de cave of Dom Pérignon and founder of the sake brand IWA. The ceremony encapsulated the spirit of collaboration and celebration, ending with a warm address by the lounge's General Manager,
Ms. Risa Gokita, which was met with enthusiastic applause.
Coincidentally, October 1st also marked
“Nihon Sake no Hi” (Japan Sake Day) and introduced the launch of the
IWA Edition 6, enhancing the significance of the evening. Guests clinked Dom Pérignon Vintage 2015 champagne glasses, a moment that vividly illustrated the seamless blend of tradition and innovation in the realm of premium beverages.
