Fidelis Care's Urgent Call to Essential Plan Members

Fidelis Care, one of New York's leading statewide health plans, is urging members enrolled in the Essential Plan 200-250 to take decisive action to secure their health coverage. The impending termination of this plan on June 30, 2026, due to federal funding alterations affects approximately 450,000 individuals across the state, including around 140,000 Fidelis Care members.

Beginning May 16, members of the Essential Plan 200-250 can now enroll in alternative health coverage programs. Fidelis Care is focused on providing assistance and detailed information to help members navigate their choices efficiently. Potential options may include Qualified Health Plans available on the Marketplace, Medicaid, or other Essential Plan alternatives.

Fidelis Care offers the Ambetter from Fidelis Care plans that are particularly appealing, featuring some of the lowest costs in New York State. These plans guarantee comprehensive coverage critical for members, including preventive care, emergency services, maternity and newborn care, mental health services, prescription drugs, and more. With enhanced benefits such as a telemedicine program, wellness rewards, fitness reimbursements, and HSA-compatible plans, Ambetter aims to support the health needs of its members holistically.

To avoid a lapse in coverage, members are advised to act quickly by reviewing their New York State of Health eligibility notices. Enrollment in a new plan must occur before June 15 to ensure uninterrupted coverage beginning July 1.
