DICK'S Sporting Goods to Recruit 14,000 Seasonal Workers for 2025 Holiday Rush

DICK'S Sporting Goods Preparing for the 2025 Holiday Rush

In anticipation of the bustling 2025 holiday shopping season, DICK'S Sporting Goods (NYSE: DKS) has unveiled plans to onboard around 14,000 seasonal teammates. This decision reflects the company's commitment to providing an enhanced shopping experience for athletes and customers alike.

Marking its eighth annual event, DICK'S will hold a "National Signing Day" on October 22, 2025, which will signal the commencement of its recruitment efforts for these seasonal positions. The company aims to recruit over 9,100 teammates who will work at DICK'S Sporting Goods, DICK'S House of Sport, and Public Lands locations. An additional 500 hires are earmarked for its Going, Going, Gone! outlets across the nation.

Foot Locker, now part of the DICK'S Sporting Goods family, will also contribute by bringing on approximately 4,750 team members throughout its various store formats, including Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, WSS, and Champs in North America. This seasonal talent influx underscores DICK'S focus on customer service throughout its retail activities during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year.

Julie Lodge-Jarrett, Executive Vice President and Chief People, Purpose, and Transformation Officer of DICK'S Sporting Goods, remarked, "The holidays are one of the most exciting times for our stores, and our seasonal teammates play a pivotal role in creating a dynamic environment for our athletes and customers. We are excited to welcome new teammates who will help ensure our customers find the ideal gifts during the holiday rush."

DICK'S Sporting Goods prides itself on a positive workplace culture, having earned accolades like a spot on Fortune’s Best Workplaces in Retail List and achieving a Great Place to Work certification for five consecutive years. The company reinforces its commitment to its staff by closing all DICK'S and US Foot Locker stores on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025, allowing employees to spend time with family. Nevertheless, online shoppers can still browse for their favorite items throughout the day, with stores set to welcome customers back on Black Friday.

The recruitment drive is seeking individuals who are not only passionate about sports but are also eager to provide excellent customer service. Prospective seasonal teammates will find competitive pay and discounts as part of their employment package. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply immediately by visiting dicks.com/jobs to locate nearby stores and submit their job applications. In addition, they are invited to attend the in-person interviews on National Signing Day, October 22nd, and applications will remain open until all positions are filled.
