Innovative Approach to Community Engagement at YuruBaas 2025 Showcases Local Revitalization

Innovative Community Engagement at YuruBaas 2025

QON Inc., located in Minato-ku, Tokyo, is set to participate in one of Japan's largest festivals celebrating local mascots, known as YuruBaas 2025, occurring on September 27 and 28, 2025, at Sumida Park in Tokyo. This festival, previously known as the Yuru-Chara Grand Prix, will feature QON's booth, showcasing their new initiative, the Yuru-Navi Community Mall, which will operate only on the first day of the event.

The Yuru-Navi Community Mall, launched in October 2024, is an official online community developed in collaboration with the Yuru-Chara Grand Prix executive committee. Currently, about 50,000 fans from across the nation are engaged on this platform, allowing local mascots and their enthusiasts to connect seamlessly. The initiative aims to utilize AI in analyzing accumulated community data, enhancing promotional efforts for local regions and stimulating revitalization efforts throughout Japan.

What to Expect at the Booth

This booth represents an exciting first for the Yuru-Navi Community Mall in a physical event. Attendees will receive postcards, while QON employees will personally introduce visitors to the community's offerings. Participants will have the opportunity to register and engage in real-time interactions. Notably, several mascots that already connect with fans online will be present, enabling attendees to meet their beloved characters in person—a unique experience that underscores the merger of online and offline engagement.

YuruBaas: A Platform for Local Revitalization

YuruBaas aims to support local rejuvenation through engaging local mascots. This year's event boasts an impressive turnout with 299 mascots registered, marking the largest scale in the event's history. The final voting round will bring together over 100 mascots competing for the grand prize, decided through combined online votes and votes from on-site attendees.

QON is committed to ensuring that the excitement generated by the event doesn't fade quickly. By operating the Yuru-Navi Community Mall with the Yuru-Chara Grand Prix executive committee, QON fosters ongoing communication between local regions and their fans. This active dialogue nurtures interest and real-life visits to the areas represented by the mascots, ultimately expanding new frontiers for local revitalization.
