The Farewell Celebration for the 'Berabou Edo Taito Taiga Drama Museum'
The 'Berabou Edo Taito Taiga Drama Museum', established to celebrate the airing of the historical drama 'Berabou - Tsutaya Shigei no Yume Banashi', will be closing its doors on January 12, 2026. Since its opening on February 1, 2025, the museum has welcomed many visitors, providing a unique glimpse into the world of Edo-period Japan. As the closure date approaches, the promotion council of Taito Ward will organize a series of exciting events from January 10 to January 12, aimed at giving everyone a memorable final experience.

Edo Japanese Hair Styling Demonstration

In this demonstration, skilled stylists will recreate iconic hairstyles depicted in Ukiyo-e art, including Daigo Hair, Shell Hair, Ronin Hair, and Samurai Hair. Witness the artistry and precision of Edo-period hair styling up close and take the opportunity to connect with Japan’s cultural heritage.
January 11 (Sunday)
Washi-bound Notebook Workshop
Time: 10 AM - 2 PM
Location: Taito Ward Citizen Hall, 9th Floor, Special Conference Room A
This workshop, limited to 200 participants, invites you to create your own notebook using traditional Japanese binding techniques. It’s a unique chance to learn about Edo-period craftsmanship firsthand while making a memorable keepsake.

Commemorative Photos with Original Frames
Time: 10th - 10:30 AM - 5 PM / 11th - 10 AM - 5 PM
Location: Taito Ward Citizen Hall, 9th Floor, Special Conference Room A
A special photo booth will be set up to capture your visit, featuring original frames that can only be obtained at the museum. After taking your picture, you can download it by scanning a QR code; printed copies won’t be available, making this a digital-only memento of your visit.

Talk Event with Historical Expert Toshiaki Suzuki
Time: 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Location: Taito Ward Citizen Hall, 8th Floor, Conference Room 2
Join us for a special talk by Dr. Toshiaki Suzuki, a renowned expert on Tsutaya Shige, who also consulted on the Taiga drama. This is a rare chance to hear insights from someone deeply knowledgeable about the drama and its historical context.
In addition to these main events, attendees can look forward to various stage performances and meet-and-greets with Taito Ward’s mascot character, Tsutayan. Detailed programming will be shared on the official website and social media as confirmation is received.
