Internet Society Welcomes New Member to its Board

The Internet Society has made a significant move by announcing the appointment of Seun Ojedeji to its Public Interest Registry (PIR) Board of Directors. This decision was made public on May 22, 2025, aiming to bolster the organization's governance and ensure its continued commitment to supporting a free and open Internet.

A Seasoned Executive in Internet Governance

Seun Ojedeji brings a wealth of experience to the board. As a senior technology executive, he has amassed over a decade of expertise in Internet governance, DNS operations, and non-profit leadership. His robust track record in advancing strategic initiatives and engaging global stakeholders is expected to enhance the PIR's mission. His prior role as Board Director at AFRINIC, the regional Internet registry for Africa, has prepared him well for this new position.

Reappointment of Proven Leaders

In addition to Ojedeji’s appointment, the Internet Society has also reappointed Lena Beck Rørvig and Mike Silber to their positions on the board. All three members, including Ojedeji, will commence three-year terms starting in June 2025. Furthermore, Jonathon Nevett, who serves as PIR's President and CEO, will continue in his role for another year, highlighting the board’s commitment to stability and experienced leadership.
