On September 29, 2026, a festive ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the official opening of the ChoiceOne Bank Trail, located at the intersection of Silver Lake Road and Jennings Road in Fenton, Michigan. The trail is a crucial addition to the Genesee County Legacy Trails network, an ambitious project aimed at linking over 200 miles of trails in Flint and the surrounding Genesee County area. This initiative aims to provide residents with easy access to essential amenities, including parks, schools, grocery stores, and libraries, thereby promoting an active lifestyle and enhancing community connectivity.

Moreover, the network is designed to connect 23 communities across Genesee County, linking them with two state parks, 151 parks in total, and 89 schools, thus fostering an enriched community experience.
