Firework Japan Hosts Exclusive '2025 JFUG Spring' User Group Event in Ginza
On May 15, 2025, Firework Japan held an exclusive event named '2025 JFUG Spring' designed for companies utilizing their services. Taking place in the upscale area of Ginza at 'Le chic unjour', this user group meeting gathered various enterprises for a collaborative exchange of insights and experiences.
The 'Japan Firework User Group' (JFUG) is a closed event tailored specifically for Firework's clientele. Its mission is to facilitate the sharing of practical case studies and encourage information exchange among participating brands as they adapt to the evolving landscape of video utilization in their marketing strategies.
During this year's session, participants delved into how the fusion of video and commerce can create customer experiences akin to face-to-face interactions online. This innovative approach aims to foster trust and affinity towards brands, encouraging continuous purchasing behaviors among consumers. Attendees discussed how moving beyond a purely efficiency-driven purchasing experience to a more human-centric model can enhance relationships between businesses and their customers, leading to sustainable engagement.
The event kicked off with a captivating live commerce demonstration from 'Kishi-Wada Sports', owner of one of the largest soccer and futsal specialized stores in the Kansai region, ‘Kemari87KISHISPO’, along with adidas Originals and On shops. Senior Manager Shun Takemura from the IT and On departments presented their successful live commerce initiatives. Following this, speakers from various companies shared their pioneering video use strategies, enhancing the audience's understanding of the current creative landscape.
Next, Kunihito Ikeda, Group Manager from the brand '(Futsuu no) Shop', discussed his reasons for enhancing video content and showcased successful outcomes from their initiatives. The panel discussion featured Reiko Hagiwori of Rohto Pharmaceutical’s D2C division and Tomomi Sasaki from MCC Management’s promotional planning department, presenting exciting comparisons of their respective efforts and future outlooks. The atmosphere of the venue was charged with inspiration and synergy as different perspectives were shared.
A participatory workshop unfolded, led by Shinya Ishijima, Firework Japan's Director of Creative Strategy, presenting an innovative framework aimed at making idea generation accessible to all attendees. The day concluded with Firework co-founder and President Jerry Luk's insights into global initiatives, bridging Japanese market dynamics with overarching international trends, thus elevating everyone's expectations for the future.
Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their appreciation for the astonishing insights shared, including, "It was refreshing to hear about failures and learning experiences during implementation" and "Hearing from other companies motivated me to take the next step myself".
Around 60 user and partner representatives attended the event, creating a vibrant networking environment that fostered engagement across industries and positions. Many expressed their enthusiasm for future gatherings, reinforcing their desire to return for the next JFUG, planned for the fall of 2025.
