Lifeway Foods Achieves Record Net Sales Growth in Second Quarter 2026

Lifeway Foods Sets New Sales Record in Q2 2026

Lifeway Foods, Inc. has once again made history with an impressive performance in the second quarter of 2026, achieving net sales of $66.9 million, representing a 24.1% year-over-year increase. This achievement not only outstrips the previous quarterly high of $63.0 million set in early 2026 but also signifies the company’s 27th consecutive quarter of year-over-year sales growth. Over the first half of 2026, Lifeway recorded total sales of $129.9 million, marking a remarkable 29.9% increase from the same period in 2025.

Julie Smolyansky, President and CEO of Lifeway Foods, expressed her enthusiasm, noting, "We are thrilled to report the highest quarterly net sales in our company’s history. This growth underscores our commitment to providing high-quality kefir and probiotic products while also reflecting the strength of our brand in the competitive food industry."

To tackle the challenges posed by rising milk prices and increased packaging costs, Smolyansky assured stakeholders that Lifeway is well-equipped to weather the storm. "We view the current margin pressure as temporary," she explained. The company anticipates an improved gross margin by 2027, thanks to pricing strategies and operational efficiencies that will enhance profitability.

Financial Highlights

In examining the financial performance for the second quarter of 2026, it’s worth noting that despite the growth in sales, the gross profit margin fell to 19.5% from 28.6% in the previous year’s quarter. Investment in marketing and brand recognition accounted for increased selling, general, and administrative expenses, which represented 18.4% of net sales, up from 17.6% year-over-year. However, net income for the quarter was reported at $0.1 million, a drop from the $4.3 million reported in the same period last year.
