Fulton Bank Awards $2,000 Scholarships to Two Outstanding Students
Fulton Bank, a well-respected community bank based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, has recently announced the recipients of their $2,000 scholarships aimed at supporting students pursuing degrees in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The fortunate individuals selected for this generous scholarship are Jessica Canedo from Riverside, New Jersey, and Camie Nguyen from Havre de Grace, Maryland.
Both students are set to embark on their undergraduate education this fall. Jessica will be attending Saint Joseph's University, where she will focus her studies on biochemistry. On the other hand, Camie will be enrolling at the University of Maryland to study chemistry and pre-pharmacy. Both young ladies have demonstrated exemplary commitment to their studies and a passion for their respective fields.
The funding for these scholarships was raised by Fulton's Women in Technology Employee Resource Group, a program designed not only to support budding professionals in STEM but also to promote diversity within the technology sector. Kelly Salvato, an Information Technology Project Manager and the Chairperson of this initiative, expressed the bank's pride in supporting students who are eager to advance their education in these critical areas. She stated, "Fulton Bank is honored to recognize and support these driven individuals as they pursue their passion for education in the STEM field."
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants needed to be high school seniors residing within the banks’ service areas, with plans to enroll in a two- or four-year undergraduate program in a STEM-related discipline. Fulton Bank’s Women in Technology Employee Resource Group remains open to all interested employees, reinforcing the bank’s commitment to creating a balanced and inclusive environment within the tech space.
