Inland Empire Health Plan's Exceptional Achievement in Provider Satisfaction
Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) has made impressive strides in healthcare performance, recently earning a 99th percentile ranking in overall provider satisfaction. This remarkable achievement is based on data gathered from the Provider Experience Survey conducted by Press Ganey, a leading provider of patient and employee experience measurement.
The Provider Experience Survey is conducted annually, with participation from various healthcare providers within the IEHP network. For the 2024 survey, nearly 3,000 providers were surveyed, among which around 1,000 primary care physicians, specialists, and behavioral health providers participated providing valuable insights into their interactions with the health plan.
Feedback Drives Continuous Improvement
"Receiving genuine and constructive feedback from our providers is crucial," remarked Susie White, IEHP's Chief Operating Officer. "It empowers us to refine our approach, maintain transparency, and ultimately enhance service delivery and access to care for all community members."
The survey results highlighted that IEHP outperformed many other health plans across the country in all eight categories evaluated. An impressive 97% of providers indicated they would recommend IEHP to their colleagues, underscoring the strong relationships fostered within the network.
Strengths and Areas for Improvement
IEHP has been particularly praised for its interpreter services, pharmacy services, and exceptional call center support. However, the organization recognizes that there are areas for enhancement, such as network coordination and the overall coordination of care. IEHP's leadership team is actively engaged in addressing these concerns.
Dan Gomez, the Vice President of Provider Experience, stated, "The survey results not only reflect our strengths but also pinpoint areas requiring our immediate attention. We are committed to improvement and are taking actionable steps in response to provider feedback."
Strategic Focus on Provider Experience
The insights gained from the survey have led to the identification of several strategic focus areas aimed at enhancing the provider experience, including:
- - Onboarding and Training: An increase in the quality and resources for onboarding providers, supported by IEHP's Learning Management System, to ensure that providers are educated in a timely manner.
- - Access to Care: Improved accessibility to care options, notably through virtual healthcare services, especially for providers and members in rural regions.
- - Claims Resolution: Streamlined processes for accepting provider claims disputes via a secure portal, facilitating quicker and more efficient claims resolution.
With a robust network of over 8,000 providers serving approximately 1.5 million members across Riverside and San Bernardino counties, IEHP is dedicated to improving healthcare access for all individuals in the region.
