Elev8 Health's 2025 Thrive Tour Aims to Tackle U.S. Maternal Mortality Rates

Elev8 Health, Inc. has unveiled its ambitious plans for the 2025 THRIVE Maternal Health Tour, a groundbreaking initiative designed to enhance maternal health, particularly for marginalized communities in the United States. The tour is set to roll out from March to November 2025, with stops in 20 cities across the country, aiming to create a supportive community for families and expecting parents.

The THRIVE Tour is led by the organization’s president and CEO, Dr. Que English, who previously directed the Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). This initiative, sponsored in part by major organizations such as Walmart, the American Psychiatric Association Foundation, and Pfizer, aims to address the stark disparities in maternal health outcomes among African American and American Indian/Alaska Native women—groups significantly affected by maternal mortality and morbidity.

According to data from the CDC, African American women face a threefold increase in the risk of dying from pregnancy-related causes compared to their white counterparts, with over 80% of these deaths being preventable. The THRIVE Tour is determined to reverse this trend by offering access to mental health professionals, birthing workers, and medical providers, fostering a form of community support often referred to as a 'village'. This approach recognizes the importance of collaborative care, particularly in addressing critical issues such as maternal health disparities, self-advocacy, postpartum depression, and the significance of support systems like doulas and midwives.

Dr. English emphasizes, “They say raising a family takes a village, and we are bringing the village to families, expected parents, and postpartum women in need of vital services, mental health support, and resources.” The acknowledgment of ongoing disparities in maternal health highlights the continued need for equitable healthcare practices and systematic interventions.

The experience during the THRIVE Tour will also engage fathers with essential discussions tailored to their unique challenges and needs. By equipping them with tools to enhance their mental well-being and maximize their potential as caregivers, the initiative aims to empower entire families.

Scheduled cities for the 2025 THRIVE Tour include major metropolitan areas such as Brooklyn and Staten Island in New York, Houston and El Paso in Texas, Los Angeles and San Diego in California, and numerous others stretching from Boston to New Orleans.

Collaboration with organizations such as A Chance to Learn, Dear Fathers, Daddy University, and the Irth app underscores the holistic approach Elev8 Health seeks to achieve through this initiative. By providing critical resources and fostering a supportive environment, the 2025 THRIVE Tour aspires to dismantle systemic barriers in maternal care, working towards healthier futures for mothers, fathers, and their children. Social media and community engagement will accompany the tour, allowing local participants to share their stories and connect, further solidifying the tour’s mission to build a more supportive landscape for families facing health disparities.
