Hard Rock International Celebrates Earth Hour 2026 and Launches Month of Global Environmental Initiatives

Hard Rock International Amplifies Environmental Commitment

On March 28, 2026, Hard Rock International proudly participated in Earth Hour, a global initiative created by the World Wildlife Fund, which calls upon individuals, businesses, and iconic landmarks to unite in their commitment to protecting the environment. This year, Hard Rock locations worldwide engaged guests by inviting them to unplug from electrical devices for 60 minutes, allowing them to reflect on the necessity of sustainability. As a part of their ongoing 'Save the Planet' commitment, the organization has made it a tradition to celebrate Earth Hour for the eighth consecutive year.

The observance of Earth Hour naturally transitioned into Earth Month, during which Hard Rock properties extended their environmental efforts with a series of local sustainability programs tailored to diverse ecosystems and communities. With events continuing throughout April, the expansive programming feature over 29 community cleanups, 20 group hikes, 17 acoustic performances, and 15 enriching educational initiatives. The collective impact from these efforts is remarkable, with more than
  • - 1,400 pounds of waste being removed
  • - 700 pounds of plastic bottle caps collected
  • - 450 trees donated
  • - 62,000 hours dedicated to environmental initiatives that equate to a continuous playlist reverberating through Hard Rock properties for over eight days.

Notable highlights from various global Hard Rock locations include:
  • - Hard Rock Hotel Bali: Guests were welcomed with a Green Ritual at check-in, provided waste-separation education, received eco-bags distributed at local markets, participated in mangrove planting and beach cleanups, and enjoyed visits to cultural gardens near Besakih Temple.
  • - Hard Rock Hotel Cancun: Featured activities included a mangrove cleanup, a zero-waste guacamole class, arts workshops targeting sea turtle conservation for children, sunrise yoga sessions, and a neon-themed dinner to celebrate Earth Hour.
  • - Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast: Hosted an “Insects Keep the Earth Beating” educational session led by an entomologist, alongside crafting seed balls for pollinators, engaging in insect-inspired yoga, and a fundraiser benefiting a local arts organization for those with disabilities.
  • - Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya: Guests enjoyed a candlelit acoustic music event, a reused percussion performance, a Sustainable Bites menu, wellness sessions, and an innovative upcycling initiative that transforms damaged inventory into wearable merchandise.
  • - Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta: Activities included creating bike-powered smoothies, beach cleanups, upcycled art with repurposed linens, bonfire gatherings, and an unplugged concert under the stars.
