Enhancing ASEAN's Human Resource Development Through AHEAD50 in Japan
The AHEAD50 program, aimed at bolstering human resource development among ASEAN nations, is set to welcome its fifth delegation to Japan this May. Comprising four staff members from the ASEAN Secretariat's Science and Technology Division (STD), this initiative will revolve around enhancing governance of science, technology, and innovation (STI) for sustainable regional development. The following day, May 19, will see the delegation visiting the Science and Technology in Society Forum, emphasizing the role of societal inputs in technological advancements. Moving then to Hyogo Prefecture, they will explore the RIKEN Center for Computational Science, further broadening their comprehension of Japan’s technological landscape.
Throughout the visit, cultural exchanges will also take place, with activities such as the traditional tea ceremony on May 21, providing an avenue for participants to experience Japan's rich cultural heritage. Specific site visits in Kyoto include significant landmarks such as Sanjusangendo and institutional visits to institutions like the Omron Communication Plaza and Ritsumeikan University's Graduate School of Technology Management.
