HL Mando Achieves Prestigious Supplier Award from GM for Six Consecutive Years

HL Mando Continues to Impress as GM's Supplier of the Year for 2025

HL Mando, a leader in the global software-defined vehicle sector under the HL Group, has yet again been awarded General Motors' (GM) prestigious Supplier of the Year honor for 2025. This marks an impressive six consecutive years of recognition and a total of twelve awards, underscoring the company's unwavering commitment to quality, technological advancement, and supply chain capabilities.

The award ceremony took place in May in Austin, Texas, where notable leaders from HL Mando, including Jason (Jae-hyuk) Kim, Head of Americas Region, and Sales Director Jake (Jongkoo) Kang, proudly accepted the accolade. GM's decision to honor HL Mando as Supplier of the Year is a testament to the company’s robust production capabilities, particularly from its North American manufacturing base.

Recognition for Innovation

HL Mando earned its latest accolade in the "Creativity Team of Brake Apply Control" category, recognized for its exceptional product offerings, like the innovative Motor-on-Caliper system that integrates the parking brake function directly into the caliper. This pioneering advancement not only streamlines vehicle designs but also enhances user convenience and safety.

With its Alabama plant boasting a massive annual production capacity of 7.4 million units, HL Mando serves a range of North American OEMs, catering to the industry's growing demand for high-quality automotive components. Jason Kim emphasized the significance of this award, stating, "This recognition reflects our steady commitment to excellence in North America. GM prioritizes speed, innovation, resilience, and agility as core supplier competencies, and we strive to embody these values in every aspect of our operations."

Strengthening Partnerships

Shilpan Amin, GM's Senior Vice President and Global Chief Procurement and Supply Chain Officer, highlighted the importance of partnerships with suppliers like HL Mando, saying, "Supplier of the Year is a key moment our entire team anticipates, as it celebrates the collaborations essential to vehicle production. When suppliers deliver exemplary performances throughout product development, it enables us to create world-class vehicles for our customers."

Winning this award is no small feat; GM bestows it only upon about 0.5% of its estimated 20,000 global suppliers. This year, 103 companies from 14 different countries received recognition, showcasing their ability to perform excellently despite challenging market conditions, regulatory changes, and global supply chain uncertainties.

Adding to HL Mando's accolades, their Georgia plant also received the 2025 Supplier Quality Excellence Award (SQEA) from GM, recognizing its impeccable performance in quality standards in the previous year.

As HL Mando continues to push the envelope in innovation and quality within the automotive industry, its consistent recognition by GM solidifies its position as a vital supplier in the market. Looking ahead, HL Mando is poised to enhance its partnerships further, demonstrating its dedication to fulfilling the needs of its clients while driving the industry towards a more advanced and efficient future.
