Experience the Opulence of Marie Antoinette at InterContinental Tokyo Bay

At the InterContinental Tokyo Bay, a special French dining experience inspired by the exquisite flavor profiles found at the Palace of Versailles is set to delight guests from May 9th. The event takes place in the Fine Dining restaurant, La Provence, where diners can enjoy a luxurious French course that channels the enchanting atmosphere associated with Queen Marie Antoinette.

The dining experience invites guests to feel as though they have been transported back to an 18th-century banquet at Versailles, showcasing modern interpretations of the sumptuous delicacies once enjoyed by the famed queen. To welcome diners, a bubbly toast with Nina’s Rosé Sparkling Wine, fragrant with hints of roses and apples from the Versailles gardens, or the historical Hyper-Ego Champagne dedicated to the queen enhances the initial celebratory mood.

The meal begins with a beautifully plated dish called the Palette Art Appetizer, showcasing five distinct flavors from the Provence region. The first course includes elegantly prepared salmon with du Barry-style cauliflower, elegantly accompanied by caviar, setting the tone for a meal that balances creativity with tradition.

For the warm appetizer, guests will savor a veal ragout en crôute, a dish that harkens back to the culinary trends of the time, with flavors developed through slow cooking with veal stock. Following this, the fish course presents a modern take on the classic Parmentier, featuring fresh fish enveloped in potato—a staple during the 18th century.

The main course features chicken—a nod to Marie Antoinette's reputed preference—prepared with Shingen chicken breast, combined with a savory mousse infused with truffles and baked under an almond-flavored crust. This dish highlights the luxurious yet refined flavor profiles reminiscent of royal banquets, ensuring each bite is a celebration of taste.

Before the grand finale, a granita with rich aromas of rose and champagne serves as the pre-dessert, cleansing the palate before Le Jardin de roses takes center stage for dessert. This afternoon tea-style dessert is inspired by the queen’s love for apple pie, elegantly arranged amongst roses, allowing diners to delight in a visually and flavorful experience that honors Marie Antoinette’s aesthetic.

For an exclusive treat, two special seats adorned with golden decor and roses are made available each day during lunch and dinner, offering diners a chance to immerse themselves fully in the opulent royal setting. This unique experience not only enhances the ambiance of the meal but also invites guests to indulge in the grandeur reminiscent of Marie Antoinette’s lavish gatherings.

The limited-time event will run from May 9th to July 14th, 2025. Lunch will be served from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM (last order at 2:30 PM), with dinner following from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM (last order at 8:00 PM). Pricing begins at ¥8,250 for lunch and ¥11,550 for dinner (excluding service charge but inclusive of tax).

To secure a seat and for further inquiries, reservations can be made at 03-5404-2222 or through their website at InterContinental Tokyo Bay.

In addition to this exquisite dining experience, the Chef Yasukazu Inoue—newly appointed at La Provence—brings his expertise in balancing flavors, textures, and presentation, embodying the restaurant's dedication to high culinary standards. Inoue's passion for elegantly executed dishes ensures that each meal reflects both care and artistry, reminiscent of the cuisine that once graced the tables of Versailles.

Overall, the Fine Dining La Provence at InterContinental Tokyo Bay invites you to relish in a culinary homage to Marie Antoinette, providing not just a meal, but a journey back to one of history’s most decadent eras.
