Celebrate Vegetable Day with Fun Salad Activities at Kewpie Event!

Celebrate Vegetable Day with Kewpie!

Kewpie Corporation, headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, is thrilled to announce a hands-on event to celebrate Vegetable Day on August 31. Dubbed 'Enjoy Salad with Kewpie and Vegetable Friends Park', this exciting event will take place over two days, on August 30 and 31, 2025, at Shibuya Sakura Stage.

Last year, the event received an impressive 95% satisfaction rating from participants, and this year promises to deepen the fascination surrounding salads. The goal is to create a day that sparks children’s love for salads through engaging activities that encompass the themes of 'create, learn, and eat'.

Event Highlights

Attendees can look forward to various fun activities, including:
  • - Card Collection Challenge: Participate in vegetable-related quizzes and attractions throughout the venue to collect 'Kewpie and Vegetable Friends Cards'. Collect all 10 cards to receive special Kewpie merchandise (while supplies last).
  • - Catch the Vegetable Game: Returning by popular demand, this digital interactive attraction allows kids to catch falling vegetables displayed on a large screen. It's a unique way to experience salad-making through gameplay.
  • - Creative Workshops: Join hands-on workshops where families can create their own salads and culinary goodies, such as animal-themed salads, personalized lunch cloths with stamps, and salad can badges. Each workshop will have multiple sessions throughout the event.

Tasty Treats!

The event will also feature exclusive original salads created by Deliya Foods, a Kewpie group company. These will be offered for free (conditions apply) to participants of the Card Collection Challenge. Guests can choose from a selection tailored for kids and adults, allowing them to pick their favorite mayonnaise, dressings, and toppings.

A Commitment to Education

Kewpie's initiatives stem from the belief of its founder, Toichiro Nakashima, who emphasized contributing to society through food. The company has made educational activities centered around food a cornerstone of its community engagement. The 'Mayonnaise Classroom', conducted in elementary schools since 2002, has guided over 120,000 children in the joy and importance of food, showcasing hands-on experiences with homemade mayonnaise and vegetables.

Research conducted with Shirayuri Women's University has highlighted how collaborative cooking experiences positively influence children's psychological development, confirming the value of shared food experiences.

Furthermore, a survey revealed that about 90% of children dislike certain vegetables, with around 60% noting an increase in disliked vegetables post-COVID-19 era. This event aims to transform Vegetable Day into a delightful opportunity for children to embrace salads, drawing on the success of last year’s 'Salad Adventure'. Over 60% of last year’s attendees expressed an increased desire to eat vegetables and salads after participating.
