MATE.BIKE Opens First Family Concept Store in Japan in 2025

MATE.BIKE Introduces Family Concept Store in Tokyo

Danish e-bike brand MATE.BIKE is expanding its presence in Japan with the opening of its first family-oriented store, MATE.BIKE TOKYO Jiyugaoka Store, on May 16, 2025. This flagship store will focus on its popular family model, the MATE GO+, designed to accommodate child seats.

A Family-Friendly Atmosphere

The MATE.BIKE TOKYO Jiyugaoka Store marks the brand's third store in Japan, emphasizing a family-friendly concept. The store's interior embodies a bright Nordic color palette, creating an inviting and modern space. At the center of the store, a distinctive round sofa serves as a hub, allowing families and individuals alike to relax and enjoy their MATE.BIKE experience together.

Additionally, the store features a dedicated children's area filled with toys and the kick bike, MATE MINI, enhancing the playful atmosphere. Thoughtful design elements include wide pathways for strollers, a drink corner catering to families, and universally accessible restrooms, making it easy for parents to visit with children.

In-Store Services

Similar to existing MATE.BIKE locations, the new store will host dedicated mechanics on-site for repairs and maintenance. Services such as tire inflation and battery charging will be available throughout opening hours, ensuring customers have access to immediate assistance. Customers are encouraged to book repairs in advance through a reservation form.

The MATE GO+ features a timeless design, ensuring usability beyond initial transport needs. The store's vision includes a future where children who once rode in MATE GO+ bike seats will continue their journeys with MATE.BIKE throughout their lives.

Store Transition and Product Offerings

In conjunction with the opening of the Jiyugaoka Store, the existing MATE.BIKE TOKYO (currently located in Minami Aoyama) will be rebranded as MATE.BIKE TOKYO Aoyama Main Store. This main store will feature models like MATE X EVO, MATE Fusion 2.0, and MATE City, while the Jiyugaoka Store will emphasize the MATE GO+ and MATE MINI, with all models available for test rides.

To celebrate the grand opening, five colors of the MATE. CHAIN LOCK/DIAL5, inspired by the MATE GO+ frame colors, will be available. Customers purchasing any bicycle from the Jiyugaoka Store will receive this locking device on a first-come, first-served basis until supplies last.
