Arbitrum Foundation's First Half 2026 Progress Update

In a recent announcement, the Arbitrum Foundation shared its Bi-Annual Progress Update for the first half of 2026, highlighting significant advancements in the ecosystem and financial performance. The period saw the network processing an astounding 478 million transactions, pushing the total to 2.7 billion lifetime transactions. Furthermore, the ecosystem's GDP surged to $206 million for this half, showcasing its rapid expansion.

The first half of 2026 has marked a notable ascent for Arbitrum, especially as it ranks first in terms of deploying tokenised real-world assets, with over 2,000 assets introduced this year. The average monthly stablecoin transfer volume on the platform has also exceeded $70 billion, underscoring its critical role in the blockchain space.

Brendan Ma, Head of Investment Strategy at the Arbitrum Foundation, commented on the growth, stating, "The first half of 2026 shows the Arbitrum ecosystem's financial profile broadening. It now looks like a diversified economic enterprise, with four income lines at a blended gross margin above 97%."

Financial Overview

During this period, Arbitrum DAO accrued an impressive $6.19 million in income across four categories: transaction fees from Arbitrum One, Timeboost, the Arbitrum Expansion Program (AEP) license fees, and treasury income. Specifically, the gross margin on protocol revenue climbed to over 97%, up from more than 90% for the entire year of 2025.

The introduction of the Arbitrum Expansion Program has proven pivotal, with new chains settling outside the primary Arbitrum network contributing 10% of net protocol revenue back to the ecosystem. Notably, the Robinhood Chain, which launched its mainnet on July 1, 2026, has become a major contributor, generating approximately $360,000 in license fees during its first month.
