Chad and Xange.com Forge Agreement to Mobilize Sovereign Environmental Assets

Chad and Xange.com Enhance Environmental Asset Management

In a groundbreaking collaboration, the Republic of Chad has entered into an agreement with Xange.com to deploy sophisticated digital systems aimed at mobilizing the country's sovereign environmental assets. This significant step is aligned with the goals outlined in the Paris Agreement, particularly focusing on Article 6, which pertains to carbon markets.

Agreement Overview

The memorandum announced on June 25, 2026, aims to implement a comprehensive Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) system complemented by an integrated Environmental Market Infrastructure (UEMIS). These systems are designed to support Chad's effective participation in international carbon markets and enhance the tracking of environmental conditions across the nation.

The deployment will involve real-time monitoring that includes features to issue alerts for wildfire risks and severe weather events. This initiative not only aims to bolster Chad's environmental data management but also establishes a national framework for environmental asset verification.

The Role of Xange.com

Xange.com, a Luxembourg-based company specializing in environmental intelligence software, brings to the table three key components crucial for the success of this collaboration:

1. National MRV System: A real-time tracking system that monitors environmental conditions across Chad, alerting authorities on potential risks like wildfires.

2. UEMIS Market Infrastructure: A end-to-end solution that manages compliance with the Paris Agreement, transforming verified mitigation data into environmental assets through a national registry.

3. IMDC Verification on Aptos: Leveraging blockchain technology, data collected by Xange’s MRV systems will be recorded as immutable metadata certifications on the Aptos blockchain, ensuring the verification process is auditable and secure.

As Esteban van Goor, CEO and founder of Xange.com, stated, "Chad possesses substantial sovereign environmental assets. However, the lack of proper infrastructure to verify, record, and leverage these assets for international markets has been a challenge. Our agreement empowers Chad to transition from potential to active participation in global carbon markets."

Immediate Impacts

With the implementation of this protocol, Chad can now accelerate its transition into Article 6 market frameworks, ensuring that verified environmental data can be transformed into sovereign assets that are accessible to international buyers and climate finance institutions.

By establishing robust infrastructure, Chad aims to unlock the potential of its environmental assets, fostering economic growth while contributing to global sustainability efforts.
