A Unique Cultural Event Merging Games, Art, and Traditional Crafts: Cthulhu Creator Showcase

In an exciting convergence of gaming, art, and traditional crafts, GigBeing Co., Ltd., based in Shibuya, Tokyo, is set to celebrate the half-anniversary of its popular browser game, "Elder Sign Awakening," with a distinctive offline event titled "The Thirty-Six Views of the Evil Gods and the Creators of Cthulhu.” The event will take place on August 8th and 9th, 2026, at the 404 Not Found venue within the Shibuya Sakura Stage, promising an immersive experience for Cthulhu mythos fans and art enthusiasts alike.

The highlight of the event will be a special exhibition and sale of works by renowned graphic designer and illustrator, Goki Yamada (known as Goking), who gained significant popularity for his captivating art book, "The Thirty-Six Views of the Evil Gods." This unique volume merges the stunning landscapes depicted by Katsushika Hokusai in his famous collection "Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji" with the eerie lore of the Cthulhu mythos. Released by Two Virgins on March 24, 2026, Yamada's work has garnered high praise from Cthulhu fans both in Japan and overseas. Attendees will have the chance to purchase original artwork, reproductions, books, and exclusive merchandise at the event, along with creative works recommended by Yamada from other creators associated with the mythos.

In an extraordinary showcase of craftsmanship, the event will also feature an exclusive display of a creative project entitled "Cthulhu x Backgammon." This unique art piece combines the traditional crafting techniques of Tokushima's artisans with the thematic elements of the Cthulhu mythos and board gaming culture. "Project O," the collaborative team of master craftsmen from Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture, has employed techniques such as metalwork, wood carving, and lacquer art to create this one-of-a-kind work that embodies a fusion of ancient skills and contemporary sensibilities.
