California Credit Union Foundation Grants $5,000 for Creative Classroom Projects
In an inspiring move to bolster education in California, the California Credit Union Foundation has awarded a total of $5,000 in grants to several local teachers as part of its Fall 2025 Teacher Grant program. This initiative supports innovative classroom projects that enhance learning experiences and cater to diverse student needs. These funds will help educators implement unique learning programs, including sensory-based experiences for young children and exciting new athletic opportunities for middle school students.
The grants, aimed at fostering creativity and engagement in the classroom, were awarded to ten dedicated teachers across Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura counties. Among the funded projects, some noteworthy ones include the establishment of a pickleball program for middle schoolers, the creation of a friendship bench to promote empathy and kindness at Ann Street Elementary, and the development of an engineering club where students will build small race cars.
Mariam Nasiry, Assistant Vice President of School and Community Development at California Credit Union, presented the grants to the fortunate recipients. “At California Credit Union Foundation, we believe great communities start with great classrooms,” said Marvel Ford, President of the Foundation. This philosophy underpins their commitment to providing teachers with the resources they need to lead innovative and effective learning environments.
Here are some of the standout projects funded this year:

Since the program’s inception in 2012, California Credit Union and its Foundation have awarded over $225,000 in teacher grants, making a significant impact on learning opportunities for thousands of students. This biannual grant program accepts applications from full-time teachers across several counties, including San Diego, Riverside, Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, and Ventura, as well as credit union members actively teaching in California. The process emphasizes projects with well-defined learning objectives, creativity, and substantial involvement from students.
California Credit Union is committed not just to financial growth, but also to the educational advancement of the communities it serves.
