GAC Reports Impressive Global Sales Growth for First Half of 2026

In the first half of 2026, GAC's international wholesale sales and retail sales for consumers saw a remarkable increase, with volumes more than doubling year-on-year. The total exports reached a staggering 121,483 units, marking a year-on-year rise of 132%, a significant milestone for the company.

In the Americas, Mexico stood out with exceptional results from January to May, as the AION ES and AION UT ranked among the top ten battery electric vehicles (BEV) sold. The AION UT claimed the third position in the battery electric segment B, while the AION ES took second place in segment C of 100% electric vehicles. Bolivia also saw GAC maintaining its title as the top-selling Chinese passenger vehicle brand. Brazil reported a substantial sales increase of 1,129% in June compared to the previous month, while year-on-year sales rose by 24%. In Colombia, June sales skyrocketed by 804% month-on-month and 21% year-on-year, and Uruguay experienced a 66% sales increase month-over-month, translating to a remarkable 254% rise year-on-year. Paraguay also recorded a 469% sales increase from the previous month. Furthermore, the retail sales in Latin American markets, including Costa Rica and Venezuela, saw impressive growths of 733% and 223% year-on-year, respectively. In the Asia-Pacific region, GAC achieved top sales for electric passenger vehicles in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in April, with a cumulative market share exceeding 11% from January to May. Singapore's sales grew by 77% month-on-month and 30% year-on-year in June. The brand ranked second among the local 100% electric vehicle brands in April, nearly capturing 7% of the market share. Thailand's sales surged by 207% month-over-month and 15% year-on-year in June, reinforcing its stronghold in the electric taxi segment. Additionally, Malaysia experienced a staggering 900% sales increase year-on-year in April, while Indonesia's sales rose by 338% year-on-year. GAC consistently ranks among the top three Chinese car brands in Cambodia.

In the Middle East and Africa, sales in Côte d'Ivoire grew by 233% month-on-month and 33% year-on-year in June. In Ethiopia, June volumes were up 510% from the previous month and 118% year-on-year. Lebanon saw retail sales advance by 50% year-on-year in May, with the EMZOOM topping sales in the local segment B SUV market. Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE all reported impressive triple-digit growth.
