Alair Homes Expands into Washington D.C.
On October 27, 2025, Alair Homes®, known as North America's largest privately held custom home building and renovation company, announced the opening of its first office in Washington, D.C. This significant milestone in the U.S. capital not only reflects the company's growth but also underscores its expanding influence in the home building industry in North America.
Blair McDaniel, the founder and chairman of Alair Homes, alongside Chad Hackmann, the regional partner for Alair Northern Virginia and D.C., celebrated this auspicious occasion at a launch event. This new office becomes the fifth location for Alair in the Washington metropolitan area, joining an extensive network of more than 100 independently owned franchises throughout the continent.
According to Rob Cecil, CEO of Alair, “The capital city of the United States represents more than a geographic milestone—it's a symbol of Alair's growing influence across North America.” The establishment of the D.C. office allows Alair to solidify its position in a crucial market, further enhancing its capabilities to deliver customized home building solutions to various clients.
The new office joins existing Alair operations in Arlington, Alexandria, Falls Church, and Hunt Country, all under the supervision of Regional Partner Chad Hackmann. His leadership has demonstrated the entrepreneurial success of Alair, characterized by sustained growth, industry recognition, and community contributions.
Supporting this new office is Elizabeth Mitchel, who boasts over 20 years of experience in residential design-build. Mitchel will serve as the Business Development Officer and Designer in D.C., contributing to Alair's mission to excel in an area known for its architectural distinctiveness and design-forward approach.
Chad Hackmann expressed enthusiasm about the office opening, stating, “Our new location allows us to build a dedicated team focused solely on the city, enabling us to tackle the architecturally challenging projects we are passionate about.”
The opening event took place at The Lutron Experience Center, in collaboration with Vintage View and other industry partners. Additionally, this event served a philanthropic purpose, supporting the local nonprofit SOME (So Others Might Eat), which provides crucial services for those experiencing poverty. Alair Cares, the company's North American philanthropic initiative, contributed $8,500 to SOME, highlighting its commitment to community engagement.
Stacy Eakman, Partner of Alair Kirkland and Regional Partner for Washington and Southern California, remarked, “Alair's growth speaks to the strength of our collective network, allowing us to offer clients something unique in the industry with the resources and knowledge of a connected group.”
