American Transaction Processors Coalition Welcomes New Leadership Under Jay Morgan

ATPC's New Leadership: A New Chapter Begins

The American Transaction Processors Coalition (ATPC) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Jay Morgan as its new Executive Director, a move that promises to help advance the interests of the transaction processing industry.

Effective immediately, Morgan's leadership comes at a time of important transformation within the coalition. His appointment is expected to bring a seamless transition, backed by a wealth of experience in public policy, particularly in the realm of FinTech. The former Executive Director, H. West Richards, played a vital role in establishing the ATPC over a decade ago. His contributions significantly shaped the identity of 'Transaction Alley', a term iconic within the payment processing landscape.

The announcement was made by Seamus Smith, Chair of the ATPC Board, who praised both Morgan and Richards. “Jay's expertise in steering Fortune 100 companies and industry groups signifies a new era for ATPC,” Smith stated. He further acknowledged Richards' vision and effort in founding the coalition and for his crucial contributions to initiatives such as the Georgia Fintech Academy and the Federal Reserve's PeachPay forum.

During his tenure, Richards was a thought leader who positioned ATPC as a major voice within America's transaction processing sector. Under his guidance, the coalition blossomed, focusing on advocacy efforts and engagement with policymakers, an essential function in influencing legislation affecting the industry.

In his new role, Morgan has expressed a strong commitment to working collaboratively with the coalition’s members and partners. He aims to continue enhancing ATPC's role as a leader in advocacy through education for all stakeholders involved in the sector. “Our industry is pivotal to the FinTech ecosystem, not just in 'Transaction Alley' but across the United States,” he remarked. Morgan previously served as the leader of state government relations for ATPC since 2014, indicating a familiarity with the coalition’s mission and operations.

The ATPC serves as a leading voice for America's payment processors, raising awareness of the industry’s importance both to consumers and businesses alike. By engaging legislators and regulatory entities at all levels, the coalition emphasizes the value of its members and the economic impact of the transaction processing sector.

Morgan’s leadership is anticipated to mark a significant turning point for the coalition, providing direction as it navigates future challenges and strives to enhance its legacy in advocacy and education.

Morgan plans to focus on instances of collaborative governance, which will be crucial in reinforcing the essential services that payment processing provides. The recent changes reflect strategic moves designed to optimize the coalition’s influence, promoting a prosperous environment for innovation and growth in the rapidly evolving fintech landscape.

As the ATPC embarks on this new chapter, it remains dedicated to supporting its members and the broader community within the transaction processing industry. The coalition welcomes all stakeholders to join in this exciting journey toward new opportunities and greater advocacy.
