Recognizing Excellence: GNYADA Named One of New York's Top Trade Associations

GNYADA's Distinction Among New York's Elite Trade Associations

On August 14, 2026, the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association (GNYADA) earned recognition as one of the top trade associations in New York by City & State. This distinguished acknowledgment underscores the association's vital role in not only advocating for over 400 franchised automobile dealerships in the metropolitan area but also in delivering essential resources and services critical to the industry.

GNYADA’s advocacy extends significantly beyond traditional lobbying. Year-round, the association tirelessly works to assist its members in navigating a complex landscape of regulatory and business challenges. Maintaining connections with various levels of government—whether state, local, or federal—enables GNYADA to effectively communicate with regulators, providing dealers with timely information that impacts their operations.

Mark Schienberg, the president of GNYADA, expressed his gratitude for the recognition. He stated, "Being honored by City & State among the leading trade associations in New York reinforces our commitment to our members. Our advocacy is comprehensive, focusing on everyday support for our members in understanding an increasingly intricate regulatory environment."

In addition to providing information, GNYADA emphasizes education and training, equipping its dealer members with the knowledge and tools necessary for successful business management. Schienberg highlighted that GNYADA's mission encompasses not just the automotive sector but also the communities these dealerships serve. "Franchised dealers are key stakeholders in their neighborhoods—employing local talent, partnering with local businesses, and offering essential services. Our responsibility is to support them on multiple fronts, whether through advocacy, navigating regulations, or fulfilling educational needs."

The New York International Automobile Show is another prime example of GNYADA’s influence. For more than a century, this prominent event has been intertwined with New York City’s identity, attracting hundreds of thousands of attendees each year. It serves as a crucial stage for automobile manufacturers, dealerships, and technology firms to showcase advancements in mobility.

In discussing the significance of their members in the community, Schienberg stated, "Our members do more than conduct business; they strengthen their communities, employing locals and supporting regional initiatives. It is GNYADA’s mission to stand by them, whether through recognition of challenges, encouraging regulatory compliance, or amplifying their voice through major events like the New York International Auto Show."

The Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association, representing over 400 franchised dealerships, remains committed to advocating for its members, navigating legislative and regulatory landscapes, and preparing the automotive workforce through its Center for Automotive Education & Training (CAET) located in Queens.

This recognition from City & State not only highlights GNYADA’s contributions but also emphasizes the importance of active engagement and support for a thriving automotive industry in the New York metropolitan area. The efforts of GNYADA continue to reflect the vital role that trade associations play in advocating for industries while fostering community relations and consumer trust across the region.
