Kuwayama Unveils Unique Exhibition Focusing on Jewelry's Essence at IJT2026

Kuwayama's Innovative Exhibition at IJT2026

Kuwayama Co., Ltd., a comprehensive jewelry manufacturer based in Taito, Tokyo, will exhibit at the 37th International Jewellery Tokyo (IJT2026), taking place from January 14 to 17, 2026, at Tokyo Big Sight. The company will present an innovative exhibition titled 'MAKING SENSE - Senses and Sensibility,' emphasizing the union of technical prowess and aesthetic values that define the beauty of jewelry.

This immersive installation allows visitors to engage with the previously unspoken processes that transform ideas into tangible, breathtaking creations. Attendees will explore the intersection of two critical elements in jewelry making: technical capability (the properties of materials) and aesthetic sensibility (the emotional response to beauty).

Kuwayama firmly believes in revisiting the core question of what constitutes 'good jewelry.' The company is committed to developing a new value standard—termed the 'Kuwayama Standard'—that combines both technicality and expression. This upcoming showcase aims to merge these elements, inviting guests to appreciate jewelry from a fresh perspective.

Among the highlights will be a variety of new jewelry pieces, including the Cast Collection, Machine Chain, and Cut Rings—each reflecting Kuwayama's dedication to exceptional craftsmanship and artistic expression. The exhibition will also feature an array of luxurious materials in the pearl section, showcasing unique items such as the Akoya Pearl in a natural blue hue known as the 'Blue Rose Premium' alongside exquisite Mabe pearls from Amami Oshima and golden South Sea pearls.

The exhibition space is thoughtfully divided into several zones:
  • - ZONE A: A captivating installation that embodies the breadth of aesthetic sensibility.
  • - ZONE B: Displays showcasing expression variations birthed from applying Kuwayama's existing technologies, stimulating the audience's imagination.
  • - ZONE C: Proposals for new designs emphasizing sculptural power and meticulous artistic expression.
  • - ZONE D: Featuring a collaborative program with students from the Hiko Mizuno College of Jewelry and the Tohoku University of Art and Design, highlighting their creative works poised to shape the future of the jewelry industry.
