New York BagelFest: Celebrating Bagels with Growth Lab and Family Fun

New York BagelFest Returns with Exciting Additions

The eagerly awaited New York BagelFest is back, set to take place on November 16th, 2025, at Citi Field. Known for its celebration of all things bagel, this year's event promises to be the biggest yet, showcasing the evolution of the festival since its inception in 2019. Originally a grassroots gathering, it has transformed into a premier event for aficionados, industry professionals, and culinary talent.

A New Dimension: Growth Lab and Mixer

This edition introduces two groundbreaking events on November 15th – the Growth Lab and the Inner Circle Industry Mixer. Both initiatives aim to bolster the future of the bagel industry and foster connections among emerging bagel makers, experienced bakers, and food media, creating a vibrant community.

The Growth Lab

Taking place from 2 PM to 5 PM at 120 Walker Street, the Growth Lab serves as both an incubator and tasting experience. It features pioneering bagel makers from across the U.S. and Canada, who will showcase their creations. Attendees can sample unique small-batch bagels and engage in discussions about the challenges of launching a bagel business. This hands-on opportunity is designed to inform and inspire.

Ellie Gulick and Gray Cowan, co-owners of Van Buren Bagel, expressed their excitement: "We are thrilled to be part of the Growth Lab! This event is a fantastic chance to engage with the bagel community, exchange ideas, and learn from seasoned professionals." Jake Rubin, owner of Holey Dough Co., echoed this sentiment, highlighting the invaluable connections and insights gained from such experiences.

Inner Circle Industry Mixer

Directly following the Growth Lab, from 5 PM to 8 PM, the Inner Circle Mixer offers an opportunity for bakery owners, culinary creatives, and media to network informally. Designed to promote conversation and collaboration, this mixer creates a platform for sharing experiences and forming partnerships. Registration for both events is now open.

Main Event at Citi Field

The main festival will be held on Sunday, November 16th, from 10 AM to 4 PM in the Heineken Diamond Lounge, showcasing numerous vendors, live judging, tastings, and exciting competitions like Best of the Fest and Best Bagel. The judging panel will feature industry experts whose evaluations could significantly impact the success of the businesses involved.

Sam Silverman, the festival's founder, emphasizes the importance of the event: "The Growth Lab exists to spotlight rising bagel makers who have the potential to redefine our industry. By providing them with visibility and mentorship, we are nurturing the future of bagel baking." Judges this year include prominent figures from the culinary world, which adds prestige to the competition.

Family-Focused Activities

Beyond the industry-centric events, this year's BagelFest is also expanding its family-friendly programming. A dedicated Kids' Section will feature bagel-themed arts and crafts and story sessions led by children's author Arianna Brooks. This inclusivity makes the festival an event for all ages, ensuring everyone can partake in the joy of bagels.
