Visa's Generous Donation Campaign Supports Noto's Community Revitalization Efforts

Visa's Impactful Campaign: Touch for Noto

Visa Worldwide Japan has recently announced a remarkable achievement regarding its ongoing campaign, "Visa Touch for Noto," dedicated to revitalizing Ishikawa's Noto region. The campaign has successfully raised over 29 million yen (approximately 290,000 USD), demonstrating the power of collaborative efforts in supporting community recovery.

Spanning from July 10 to September 30, 2025, the campaign encouraged both residents of Ishikawa and visitors to the region, including Kanazawa, to participate through cash back offers on Visa's contactless payment options. In addition, anyone across the country could join in the support through social media, establishing a strong network of donations and goodwill. By sharing messages on the dedicated campaign site, contributors from far and wide helped bolster Noto's future, reinforcing a sense of togetherness and camaraderie.

Ishikawa's Governor, Hiroshi Hase, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to supporters nationwide: "We sincerely thank everyone for their compassionate support. This growing circle of assistance brings immense encouragement to Ishikawa's residents. These efforts will play a vital role in reviving our cherished tradition of festivals, which symbolize the bonds of our community."

Shitaan Kittany, President of Visa Japan, echoed these sentiments by stating, "I hope that the generous support from customers using our partner stores, those visiting Ishikawa, and those cheering us on through social media will become a significant force in the region's revival. Visa will continue to walk alongside local communities and strive to enhance connections and smiles through technology."

How the Campaign Works

The "Touch for Noto" initiative is launched under the umbrella of an initiative aimed at restoring the Noto region and revitalizing local communities. By utilizing real consumption behaviors, the campaign creates a direct link to regional recovery efforts. During the campaign period, participants can take advantage of cashback benefits on contactless payments made at affiliated stores within Ishikawa Prefecture.
Moreover, national outreach through social media facilitated a broader participation scope, allowing people throughout Japan to post messages of support that directly contributed to the total donation.

Visa continues to innovate, making its contactless payment options more prevalent. The service, based on internationally recognized security certification technologies established in over 200 countries, allows users to pay without the need for signatures or PINs, making transactions fast and secure. Popular venues include convenience stores, fast-food restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies, and more, significantly expanding daily usage scenarios.
